PAPER CUP CELL PHONE SPEAKER SYSTEM

Materials

  • A cell phone
  • An empty toilet paper roll
  • A razor blade
  • 2 paper cups
  • A ruler
  • Markers

Steps

  • 1

Gather the materials and find a hard, stable surface to work on. Mark the middle of the toilet paper roll with the ruler and the halfway point with the marker.

  • 1

Place your phone on the toilet paper roll with the speaker side against the roll. Then, outline the shape of your phone on the roll with your pen.

  • 1

Trace the end of the toilet paper roll onto the side of the paper cups (The closer the circle to the bottom of the cup, the more magnified the sound will be).

  • 1

If you are decorating the cups with paper or sheets, do it before the cut out, so you only have to cut once. If you are decorating with other materials you may do the cut out first.

  • 1

Using the razor blade, cut out the outline. It’s best to cut the hole slightly smaller than the trace, and then trim the opening so your phone fits. Cut out the traces on the cups and trim those holes until the ends of the toilet paper roll fit snugly in the holes.

  • 1

Make sure the speakers are snugly attached at both ends and put your phone in its slot. Play music from the phone and enjoy. If you want to add a charger outlet, you may cut out a small hole at the back to allow the speaker to play uninterrupted.
